GREG DEDA
Greg Deda (b. 1965) is an internationally acclaimed Canadian artist and set designer based in Toronto and New York. Deda is known for his vast collections of magic realism and abstract, semi- abstract works. In 1996 Greg Deda studied at the Scuola Dei Beni Culturali (Now the University of Salento) in Italy. Deda was deeply inspired by frescoes painted by the great maestros of the early to late renaissance period (Michelangelo, Botticelli and Mantegna). He later explored the art of the post Berlin Wall Era attending Kunst Schule in Germany where he met then emerging and established artists such as Gerhard Richter and Jörg Immendorff.
Deda’s exhibitions are internationally recognised, with shows in Torino, Dusseldorf, Munich, New York, Toronto, and London. His body of magic realism artwork has earned a place in both private and public collections admired for his dreamlike and ambiguous atmosphere with its capacity to evoke emotional responses. Deda’s private and public collections of magical realism are one of the most unique works in modern day art today. Each conveying and expressing multi-sensory themes and perspectives, designed to emotionally awaken his audience. Themes of altering societies, illusions, roman mythology, ambiguous nature and architecture are staged in his mysterious scenes and detailed compositions. Deda’s abstract collections vary in a spectrum of abstract, abstract expressionism and semi-abstract, connecting to the subconscious of the mind, architecture (both old and modern) and nature taking inspiration from trees, leaves, rivers, sand etc.
“I want viewers to sense the theatrical humour, perhaps even the occasional touch of sarcasm, but above all, that they feel the positive energy radiating from the work. I want them to simply enjoy the piece. Each painting is created with passion and serves as an open invitation to individuals from all walks of life, welcoming diverse perspectives. When viewers engage with my work, they step into a kind of metaphysical, artistic scenery, a world where something magical and intangible begins to stir.”
Michela Vicentini
Michela Vicentini (b. 1989, Milan) is a London-based artist whose work investigates harmony, memory and transformation through colour-led, materially sensitive compositions. Educated at Umberto Boccioni Art College and the University of Pavia, she trained across fine art, architecture, sculpture and engraving, disciplines that underpin her precise handling of form and surface. A formative year in Central America expanded her chromatic vocabulary and introduced a quiet cadence to her mark-making: layered fields of pigment, rounded forms and measured voids that suggest breath, resilience and renewal.
Her use of the human body is never centred on sensuality but as a vessel of human experience, a way to connect deeply with viewers through shared emotion and memory. Vicentini frequently works with leftover materials reclaimed from building sites, transforming construction fragments into artworks that speak of resilience and renewal. Her work has been exhibited internationally at art fairs and group shows in Madrid, Paris, Miami, Milan, Brussels and Monaco. Parallel to her studio practice, she directs Project LifeStyle Studio in London, where art and design continually inform one another, giving her paintings architectural clarity while preserving an intimate immediacy.
